Thunder Lake Lodge is located in North Central Minnesota, adjacent to Chippewa National Forest, and in the heart of Minnesota’s bald eagle country (there are several nests on the lake). Close to shopping and dining, we are still 35 miles from the nearest stoplight!

Our MN Resort is just three hours north of the Twin Cities and less than two hours west of Duluth. We are only nine and one half hours from Chicago (Eau Claire Wisconsin is a great half-way spot).
Driving Directions
From the Twin Cities, take U.S. 169 North to Garrison. Then take MN 6 North through Deerwood, Crosby, Emily, and Outing past South Thunder Lake Road to County Road 7. Then 2-1/2 miles west on 7 until you see the sign for Thunder Lake Lodge. Turn left and go 1 mile.
From Duluth, take U.S. 2 West to MN 200. Follow 200 west to Remer. Take MN 6 South out of Remer. Go 7 miles to County Road 7. Turn right, go 2-1/2 miles west on 7 until you see the sign for Thunder Lake Lodge. Turn left and go 1 mile.
From MN 371 at Pine River, take MN 84 to Longville then east on County 7 for 9 miles until you see the sign for Thunder Lake Lodge. Turn left and go 1 mile.. Turn right and go 1 mile.
From Walker, go east on MN 200 20 miles to MN 84, south 5 miles through Longville, then east 9 miles on County 7 until you see the sign for Thunder Lake Lodge. Turn right and go 1 mile.
From Fargo, go east on US 10 to Detroit Lakes. Take MN 34 to Walker. Go east on MN 200 20 miles to MN 84, south 5 miles through Longville, then east 9 miles on County 7 until you see the sign for Thunder Lake Lodge. Turn right and go 1 mile.
