It’s hard to believe that summer is over already, but the weather was fantastic for the participants in the final Thunder Lake Lodge Kids Fishing Contest of 2009.  The contest commenced last Thursday with 7 contestants showing off their angling skills for one last time off the docks.  Here are the results:

Jacob from Cottage #7 caught the biggest fish of the day.  It was a 7  1/2″ rock bass.

Lyndsey A. from Cottage #7 caught the smallest fish, which was a 4  1/2″ sunfish.

Sydney from Cottage #10 caught the most fish.  She caught 7 total fish.

Congratulations to all the contestants who participated throughout the summer.  We look forward to to having all of you in next year’s contests.

Eight contestants caught scores of fish in last week’s kids fishing contest.  Here are the results:

Brooke from the Cottage Deluxe caught the most fish.  She reeled in 8 total fish.

Stella from Cottage Deluxe caught the smallest fish, which was a 3  5/8″ sunfish.

Nikita from Cottage #3 caught the biggest fish.  His smallmouth bass measured in a 11  1/8″.

Mother nature brought rain with her for last week’s kids fishing contest, but that didn’t stop 6 brave and persistent kids from trying their luck off the TLL docks.  Here are the results:

Isaac from Cottage #11 caught a sunfish measuring 3 3/8″.  It was the smallest of the day.

Noah from Cottage #11 caught the most fish.  He totaled 10 fish.

Caleb from Cottage #11 caught the biggest fish.  It was a 7 1/2″ perch.

It should also be noted that Santino, Michael and Jerah were all first-time anglers who did a great job catching a lot of fish between the 3 of them.

A season high 20 contestants entered the kids fishing contest last week on the docks at Thunder Lake Lodge. The award winners were as follows:

• Kian from Cottage Deluxe caught the biggest fish, which was a 9 inch rock bass.
• Thomas from Cottage #9 caught the smallest fish.  He caught a 3 1/2″ sunfish.
• Connor from Cottage #4 reeled in the most fish during the competition.  He caught 11 total fish.

Eleven contestants toted rod, reel and life jacket to the docks this week for the kids fishing contest.  Here are the award winners for the week:

• Bella from Cottage #4 caught the smallest fish.  Her sunfish measured 3 7/8″.

• Jacob from A-Frame 2 caught the biggest fish, which was a perch measuring 8 1/4″.

• Samantha from Cottage #12 received the award for most fish caught.  She totaled 19 fish.

Rods were bending for 14 successful contestants in the Kids Fishing Contest last week on the docks at Thunder Lake Lodge.  Here are the results:

• Cade from Cottage #4 caught the smallest fish, which was a sunfish measuring 3 3/4″.
• Brianna from Cottage #9 caught the biggest fish.  It was a 7 3/4″ perch.
• Charlie from Cottage #11 caught the most fish.  He reeled in 7 total fish.

Last Thursday’s Kids Fishing Contest had 16 contestants giving it their best efforts off the Thunder Lake Lodge docks.  Once again, everybody caught at least one fish, which is a good accomplishment given the weather we have had recently.  The following were the award winners for the week:

• For the second consecutive year, Mason from Cottage #8 caught the biggest fish.  It was an 8″ bluegill.
• Riley from Condo #3 caught the most fish.  He ended up landing 5 total fish in a sudden death overtime tie-breaker with 3 other contestants.
• Madi from Cottage #11 caught the smallest fish.  It was a 3 7/8″ sunfish.

This week’s kids fishing contest had 19 contestants.  The kids braved the wind, overcast skies and some intermittent sprinkles during the competition.  They were rewarded with some nice-sized perch, crappies, blue gills, sunfish and rock bass.  The notables were as follows:

• Emily from Cottage #4 caught the most fish with 13.
• Amber from Cottage #12 caught the smallest fish.  It was a 3 3/8″ sunfish.
• Matthew from Condo #3 caught the biggest fish, which was a 9 1/2″ crappie.

Yesterday’s Kids Fishing Contest proved to be one of the most exciting of the year.  The biggest and smallest fish of the year were both caught in this week’s contest.

• Mariah in Cottage #3 landed a 15 1/4″ Largemouth Bass!
• Zach in Cottage Deluxe caught a 3 1/8″ Sunfish!  It was the smallest fish I think I have ever seen caught on our docks.
  
• Ayanna in The McCleary Cabin caught the most fish with 19 total fish!
